East-B Corp. Settles For $3,000
In September 2023, the California Air Resources Board (CARB) reached a settlement with East-B Corp. (EBC) with its principal location in City of Industry, California, for the company’s violation of the Regulation for Reducing Emissions From Consumer Products (Consumer Products Regulation) as codified in the California Code of Regulations, title 17, section 94807 et seq.
CARB staff conducted an investigation that revealed EBC sold, supplied, offered for sale or manufactured for use in California, personal fragrance category products that did not meet the product dating requirements as stated in the California Code of Regulations, title 17, section 94512(b) and did not provide CARB and explanation of the code by January 31 of the year required by California Code of Regulations, title 17, section 94512(c).
EBC cooperated fully with CARB to resolve this matter. To come into compliance, EBC plans to revise their code to meet the requirements of the California Code of Regulations, title 17, section 94512(b)(1) and submitted an explanation of the code to CARB. The penalty of $3,000 for failing to meet administrative requirements will be deposited into CARB’s Air Pollution Control Fund, which provides funding for projects and research to improve California’s air quality.
