DVBE Case Settles for $10,990
DVBE Trucking and Construction Company will pay $10,990.00 in penalties for violating air quality regulations: $8,242.50.00 will go to the Air Pollution Control Fund, which provides funding for projects and research to improve California's air quality; $2,747.50 will go to the San Joaquin Valley Air Pollution Control District to fund the School Bus and Diesel Emission Reduction Supplemental Environmental Project. This settlement was reached in March, 2016.
An investigation by the Air Resources Board (ARB) showed that DVBE Trucking and Construction Company had failed to: (1) properly self-inspect its diesel trucks, as required by the Periodic Smoke Inspection Program (PSIP); and (2) meet PM BACT requirements for all 1996 through 1999 engine model years as required by the Truck and Bus (TB) Regulation; and (3) meet PM BACT requirements for all 2000 through 2004 engine model years as required by the TB Regulation; and (4) meet PM BACT requirements for all 2005 through 2006 engine model years as required by the TB Regulation; and (5) meet PM BACT requirements for all 1993 and older engine model years as required by the TB Regulation. To settle the case, DVBE Trucking and Construction Company agreed to the $10,990.00 penalty and to comply with PSIP, TB and other ARB programs.
