Down to Earth Distributors Case Settles for $4,000

On January 14, 2009, Down to Earth Distributors settled the alleged violation in the Notice of Violation for $4,000.  Down to Earth Distributors sold Start Clean Charcoal Starter product into California without notifying the purchaser that this product could not be sold for use in the state.  The Consumer Products Regulation requires all “Charcoal Lighter Material” offered for sale in California must be certified by ARB.
