CARB has verified the Diesel Emission Technologies UltraTrap^TM diesel particulate filter for use with certain 1994 through 2006 on-road diesel vehicles. The UltraTrap^TM system reduces emissions of diesel particulate matter by at least 85 percent and is designated as a Level 3 Plus system. The primary components of the system include a catalyzed diesel particulate filter, a backpressure monitoring and notification system. The UltraTrap^TM system is compatible with on-road vehicles using diesel fuel that contains up to 20 percent biodiesel. Specific engine families and conditions for which the UltraTrap^TM system has been approved may be found in the Executive Order below.
