D O C Transportation, Inc. and C DO Express Diversified, Inc. Case Settles for $25,375
D O C Transportation, Inc. and C DO Express Diversified, Inc. will pay $25,375.00 in penalties for violating air quality regulations: $19,031.00 will go to the Air Pollution Control Fund, which provides funding for projects and research to improve California's air quality; $6,344.00 will go to the Peralta Colleges Foundation to fund emission education classes conducted by participating California community colleges, under the California Council for Diesel Education and Technology (CCDET) program. This settlement was reached in July 2016.
An investigation by the Air Resources Board (ARB) showed that D O C Transportation, Inc. and C DO Express Diversified, Inc. failed to: (1) bring three of their on-road vehicles into compliance with the Diesel Particulate Matter Best Available Control Technology requirements, (2) disclose appropriate language on sales transaction documents for vehicles sold, (3) hire fleets in compliance with the Truck and Bus (TB) regulation and, (4) properly self-inspect their diesel trucks to assure the trucks met state smoke emission standards. ARB documented violations as they related to the TB regulation and the Periodic Smoke Inspection Program (PSIP). To settle the case, D O C Transportation, Inc. and C DO Express Diversified, Inc. agreed to the $25,375.00 penalty and to comply with TB, PSIP, and other ARB programs.
