D. D. Tours Co., Inc. Case Settles for $39,250
D. D. Tours Co., Inc. will pay $39,250.00 in penalties for violating air quality regulations: $29,438.00 will go to the Air Pollution Control Fund, which provides funding for projects and research to improve California's air quality; $9,812.00 will go to Peralta Colleges Foundation will go to the Air Pollution Control Fund, which provides funding for projects and research to improve California's air quality. This settlement was reached in February 2016.
An investigation by the Air Resources Board (ARB) showed that D. D. Tours Co., Inc. failed to bring eight of their heavy-duty diesel trucks into compliance with the diesel particulate matter best available control technology and failed to properly self-inspect their diesel trucks to assure the trucks met state smoke emission standards. ARB documented violations as they related to the Periodic Smoke Inspection Program (PSIP), the Truck and Bus Regulation (TB), and Emission Control Labels (ECL). To settle the case, D. D. Tours Co., Inc. agreed to the $39,250.00 penalty and to comply with PSIP, TB, ECL, and any other applicable ARB regulations.
