Cutex Brands Case Settles for $19,400

On May 6, 2016, a case was settled with Cutex Brands for selling/manufacturing Ulta Non-Acetone Nail Polish Remover, Pretty Nails Regular Instant Polish Remover, Cutex Non-Acetone Twist & Scrub Sponge Nail Polish Remover, Pretty Nails Non-Acetone Instant Polish Remover, and Cutex Non-Acetone Nail Polish Remover Pads subject to the VOC limit for the Nail Polish Remover category, title 17, California Code of Regulations, section 94509(a). The products contained concentrations of VOC’s exceeding the 1 percent by weight VOC limit for the category. The company paid $19,400.00 to settle the case.
