Cruz Industrial Truck, Inc. Case Settles for $2,000
Cruz Industrial Truck, Inc. paid $2,000.00in penalties for violating air quality regulations: $1,500.00 went to the Air Pollution Control Fund, which provides funding for projects and research to improve California's air quality; $500.00 went to the Peralta Colleges Foundation to fund emission education classes conducted by participating California community colleges, under the California Council for Diesel Education and Technology (CCDET) program. This settlement was reached in March 2016.
An investigation by the Air Resources Board (ARB) showed that Cruz Industrial Truck, Inc. installed a diesel particulate filter in a non-verified configuration. Cruz Industrial Truck, Inc. is also not an authorized installer of verified diesel emission control strategy. ARB documented a violation as it related to the Verification Procedure including the Aftermarket Parts Regulations and the California Vehicle Code section 27156. To settle the case, Cruz Industrial Truck, Inc. agreed to the $2,000.00 penalty and to comply with Verification Procedure including the Aftermarket Parts Regulations and the California Vehicle Code section 27156.
