Crown Xpress Transport / Transportes LGA Case Settles for $1,500
Crown Xpress Transport / Transportes LGA paid $1,500.00 in penalties for violating air quality regulations: $1,125.00 went to the Air Pollution Control Fund, which provides funding for projects and research to improve California's air quality; $375.00 went to the Peralta Colleges Foundation to fund emission education classes conducted by participating California community colleges, under the California Council for Diesel Education and Technology (CCDET) program. This settlement was reached in November 2016.
An investigation by the Air Resources Board (ARB) showed that Crown Xpress Transport / Transportes LGA failed to properly self-inspect its diesel trucks, as required by the Periodic Smoke Inspection Program (PSIP). ARB documented violations as they related to the PSIP. To settle the case, Crown Xpress Transport / Transportes LGA agreed to the $1,500.00 penalty and to comply with PSIP and other ARB programs.
