Core Products Company, Inc. Case Settles for $45,000.00
Between April 2008 and August 2011, Core Products Company supplied to California their Goo D-Solv-R product that contained VOCs in excess of the 3% limit for Spot Removers and their Graffiti Off Paint Remover product that contained VOCs in excess of the 30% limit for Graffiti Removers. The Goo D-Solv-R product was mislabeled and not intended for sale in California. The Graffiti Off Paint Remover product was produced using an incorrect formula. The violations resulted in approximately 3.59 tons of excess emissions from the sale of both products. In addition, neither product had the date of manufacture printed on the containers. Both products have since been relabeled and reformulated to meet the VOC limit of their product category and the company is now date coding all of their products. The Settlement Agreement was signed on February 4, 2013 and an initial payment of $11,250.00 was received. Three additional payments will be submitted to cover the $45,000 penalty.
