Research Summary:
The University of California, Irvine (UCI) and Communities for a New California Education Fund (CNCEF) will be creating a series of virtual webinars in 2023. It is part of community capacity building efforts to ensure questions and concerns related to wildfire smoke and community health risks of people living in San Joaquin Valley are heard. Creative educational and participatory research methods will be used to identify community leaders, document community education, promote awareness building, solicit questions, and gather feedback to better understand community concerns about wildfire impacts. By identifying unique regional concerns, UCI and CNCEF will be able to highlight future research needs.
