Coachella Valley Unified School District Case Settles
An investigation by the California Air Resources Board (CARB) showed that Coachella Valley Unified School District (CVUSD) failed to meet the compliance requirements for a portion of its school bus fleet by the deadlines set forth in the Truck and Bus (TB) Regulation. CARB documented violations as they related to the TB Regulation. To settle the case, CVUSD will complete, at its own expense, a mitigation plan as outlined in the settlement agreement to mitigate emissions from these violations. If CVUSD is unable to comply with the terms set forth in the settlement agreement, CVUSD will pay $2,000.00 in penalties for violating air quality regulations. CVUSD agreed to complete the mitigation plan and to comply with the TB Regulation and other CARB programs. This settlement was reached in December 2018.
