Classic Cold Lines, LLC Case Settles for $25,000
Classic Cold Lines, LLC will pay $25,000.00 in penalties for violating air quality regulations: $18,750.00 will go to the Air Pollution Control Fund, which provides funding for projects and research to improve California's air quality; $6,250.00 will go to the San Joaquin Valley Air Pollution Control District to fund the School Bus and Diesel Emission Reduction Supplemental Environmental Project. This settlement was reached in April, 2016.
An investigation by the Air Resources Board (ARB) showed that Classic Cold Lines, LLC had failed to: (1) properly self-inspect its diesel trucks, as required by the Periodic Smoke Inspection Program (PSIP); and (2) have 60 percent of their fleet meet PM BACT requirements by January 1, 2013 as required by the Truck and Bus (TB) Regulation; and (3) have 90 percent of their fleet meet PM BACT requirements by January 1, 2014 as required by the TB Regulation. To settle the case, Classic Cold Lines, LLC agreed to the $25,000.00 penalty and to comply with PSIP, TB and other ARB programs.
