$9,000 in Fines Paid by City of Vacaville
In June 2007, the City of Vacaville paid $9,000 in penalties for violating air quality regulations. An audit performed by the ARB showed that the City of Vacaville failed to properly self-inspect diesel vehicles to assure that those vehicles met state smoke emission standards, and failed to achieve required fleet emissions reductions and to submit required reports as required by law. ARB documented violations as they related to the Periodic Smoke Inspection Program (PSIP) and the Fleet Rule for Transit Agencies (Transit). To settle the case, the City of Vacaville agreed to the $9,000 penalty and to comply with the PSIP, Transit and other ARB programs.
