Chemical Transfer Company Case Settles for $6,500
In January 2010, Chemical Transfer Company agreed to pay $6,500 in penalties; $4,875 to the California Air Pollution Fund and $1,625 to Peralta Community College District, for violating air quality regulations. An investigation by the Air Resources Board (ARB) showed that Chemical Transfer Company failed to properly self-inspect some of their diesel trucks to assure the trucks met state smoke emission standards. ARB documented violations as they related to the Periodic Smoke Inspection Program (PSIP). To settle the case, Chemical Transfer Company agreed to the $6,500 penalty and to comply with the PSIP and other ARB programs.
