The Bulk Yard, Inc. Case Settles for $750.00
In August 2013, The Bulk Yard, Inc. paid $750.00 for violating air quality regulations: $562.50 was paid to the Air Resources Board, which provides funding for projects and research to improve California's air quality; $187.50 was paid to the Peralta Colleges Foundation to fund emission education classes conducted by participating California community colleges, under the California Council for Diesel Education and Technology (CCDET) program.
An investigation by the Air Resources Board (ARB) showed that The Bulk Yard, Inc. failed to properly self-inspect their diesel trucks to assure the trucks met state smoke emission standards. ARB documented violations as they related to the Periodic Smoke Inspection Program (PSIP). To settle the case, The Bulk Yard, Inc. agreed to the $750.00 penalty and to comply with PSIP and other ARB programs.
