Brotherhood Trucking, Inc. Case Settles for $17,617
Brotherhood Trucking Inc. agreed to pay $17,617.50 in penalties for violating air quality regulations; $13,213.13 will go to the California Air Pollution Control Fund and $4,404.38 to the Peralta Community College District for distribution to participating California Council on Diesel Education and Technology (CCDET) colleges. This settlement was reached in May 2011.
An investigation by the Air Resources Board (ARB) showed that Brotherhood Trucking Inc. failed to comply with the Periodic Smoke Inspection Program (PSIP) by not smoke testing diesel vehicles in its fleet and the Drayage Truck Regulation by dispatching drayage trucks that are either not compliant with the emission standards set forth in the regulation or not registered with the Drayage Truck Registry. To settle the case, Brotherhood Trucking Inc. agreed to the $17,617.50 penalty and to comply with the PSIP and the Drayage Truck Regulation.
