Community Input Session — California’s Clean Car Future: On September 11 in Imperial Valley, CARB will host a community session to solicit input, which will help shape California’s clean car future. CARB is partnering with local community-based organizations to host a series of in-person sessions and a separate virtual statewide session. The public will be able to provide feedback to CARB staff that will inform regulation development surrounding the reduction of air pollution from gasoline-powered cars and light trucks. The community input provided will also help to improve the process of purchasing and driving zero-emission vehicles.
Roundtables to Incorporate Environmental Justice Into Research Priorities: On September 11 in Los Angeles, and on September 12 in Lamont, CARB will host public roundtable meetings to collaborate with communities in incorporating environmental justice into research priorities surrounding air quality, climate change, health, and sustainable communities. These meetings are part of a series of roundtables where the public will have the opportunity to share concerns and priorities in small group discussions. Outcomes from the meetings will help shape potential research projects for CARB’s 5-Year Strategic Research Plan for the 2025-2030 time period. The roundtable in Los Angeles will be co-hosted by Breathe Southern California, and the one in Lamont will be co-hosted by Central California Asthma Collaborative.
Joint Board Meeting: On September 12 in Sacramento and via webcast, CARB and the Assembly Bill 32 Environmental Justice Advisory Committee (EJAC) will host a joint Board meeting where they will hear the following agenda topics: 1) the Low Carbon Fuel Standard; 2) Cap-and-Trade; and 3) Cabon Capture Utilization and Storage and Direct Air Capture, including EJAC recommendations based on the EJAC Resolution.
