Public Work Group for Clean Transportation Equity Projects Funding Allocations: On June 14 via remote access, CARB staff will hold a public work group meeting for Low Carbon Transportation Program clean transportation equity projects. The Governor’s proposed Fiscal Year (FY) 2021-22 May Budget Revision includes a total of $150 million for clean transportation equity projects. During this meeting, CARB staff will provide ideas on proposed funding allocations for a variety of projects and will seek feedback from stakeholders.
Public Workshops on Draft Wildfire Smoke Clean Air Center Grant Guidelines: On June 14 and 15 via remote access, CARB staff will host public workshops to discuss the Draft Wildfire Smoke Clean Air Center Grant Guidelines developed pursuant to Assembly Bill 836 (Wicks, Chapter 393, Statutes of 2019). The goal of the new grant program is to create a network of clean air centers serving vulnerable communities. These centers will provide residents with relief from wildfires and other smoke events. Grant funding will be used to upgrade ventilation systems and to purchase portable air cleaners. The same topics will be covered in both workshops.
Assembly Bill 617 Consultation Group Public Meeting: On June 15 via webcast, the Assembly Bill (AB) 617 (Garcia, Chapter 136, Statutes of 2017) Consultation Group will host a virtual meeting that will be open to the public. This meeting will provide an opportunity for environmental justice organizations, air districts, industry, academia, public health organizations, and local governments to discuss various aspects of Community Air Protection Program implementation.
Public Workshop for the Draft 2021 Annual Monitoring Network Plan: On June 16 via remote access, CARB staff will share the Federal requirements and provide an overview of the CARB 2021 Annual Network Plan (ANP) at a public workshop. The CARB ANP provides detailed information about criteria pollutant monitoring sites and instruments operating in 25 air districts within the CARB Primary Quality Assurance Organization. The plan also describes the proposed and recently implemented monitoring site changes in the areas covered by the ANP.
Public Meeting on Research Comment Collection Process: On June 16 via remote access, CARB staff will hold a public meeting to discuss research initiatives contained in the Proposed Triennial Strategic Research Plan and will also provide an opportunity for the public to discuss how CARB can further evaluate health effects, environmental justice, air quality, and climate issues.
Public Work Group Meeting on Light-Duty Vehicle Purchase Incentive Projects for Low-Income Consumers: On June 17 via remote access, CARB staff will conduct the second joint work group meeting on Financing Assistance and Clean Cars 4 All. In this meeting, staff will present an analysis of proposed policies in the first work group meeting and discuss how these policies will improve these programs for FY 2021-22 and beyond.
Research Seminar: On June 17 via remote access, CARB staff will hold a public research seminar to present a new methodology for selecting air monitoring locations for measuring brake and tire wear emissions. The presentation will include site selection criteria used in the implementation model as well as an overview on site selection for field research in the Los Angeles area.
