Advanced Clean Fleets Regulation Implementation Group Meetings: On December 4 and December 8 via remote access, CARB will host four public workshops regarding Advanced Clean Fleets Regulation implementation. The two Truck Regulation Implementation (TRIG) meetings on December 4 will discuss border communities and infrastructure. The two TRIG meetings on December 8 will cover outreach and rule provisions. These public workshops are part of a series of meetings to assist in the regulation’s implementation. The Advanced Clean Fleets Regulation was adopted at the April 28, 2023, Board Meeting and was effective October 1, 2023. It complements CARB’s recently adopted Advanced Clean Trucks Regulation and is intended to help advance the introduction of zero-emission technologies into California’s truck and bus fleets.
Clean Truck Check-Visual Inspection System Reporting Training Webinar: On December 5 via remote access, CARB will host the third of four public online training webinars on the Clean Truck Check-Visual Inspection System (CTC-VIS) reporting site as well as the reporting process. This webinar will be held in Spanish. The fourth webinar will take place on December 18. Seven training videos have been posted for the public to gain a better understanding of Clean Truck Check Reporting. Attendees are encouraged to review the training module videos and Clean Truck Check Program information before registering for the training webinar in order to ensure questions from all participants can be addressed. Questions can be submitted in advance of the webinar.
Public Meeting on Off-Road Regulation Contracting Requirements: On December 5 via remote access, CARB will host a public meeting on the 2022 amendments to the In-Use Off-Road Diesel-Fueled Fleets Regulation. On November 17, 2022, CARB approved these amendments, which are aimed at further reducing emissions from the off-road sector. This will be the fourth of a series of sessions and will focus on new contracting requirements. The first two sessions provided a general overview of the regulation and the 2022 amendments. The third session focused on the new renewable diesel requirements.
Workgroup Meeting on Senate Bill 114 Funding for Zero-Emission School Buses and Infrastructure: On December 5 via remote access, CARB along with the California Energy Commission will host a public workgroup meeting to discuss the implementation of incentives for zero-emission public school buses and supporting infrastructure made available by Senate Bill 114. Staff will discuss available funding, priorities, a proposed award timeline, and how to stay informed on future developments.
California Climate Action Team Public Health Workgroup: On December 5 via remote access, CARB will host a Public Health Workgroup meeting of the California Climate Action Team. Members of the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer, and other gender identities and sexual orientations (LGBTQ+) community face significant marginalization, exclusion, and direct threats to their safety and wellbeing. This meeting will focus on the intersections between actions to advance health equity for members of the LGBTQ+ community and efforts to mitigate climate change and increase resilience in communities that are inequitably impacted.
