Public Workshop on 2022 Scoping Plan Update: On December 13 via remote access, CARB staff will hold a public workshop on building decarbonization as part of the 2022 Scoping Plan Update. Discussions will also include potential measures for the 2022 State Strategy for the State Implementation Plan to meet federal air quality standards and application to the California Green building Standards Code. The workshop will provide the public with opportunities to discuss benefits, challenges, opportunities, and environmental justice concerns to advancing equitable electrification.
Training Webinar on Potential Amendments to the In-Use Off-Road Diesel Vehicle Regulation: On December 14 remote access, CARB will host a training webinar on potential amendments to the In-Use Off-Road Diesel Vehicle Regulation. At this workshop, CARB staff will discuss the potential amendments that build on concepts presented at the May 2021 workshop as well as off-road inventory, data sources, and methodologies. The goal of these amendments is to reduce emissions of criteria pollutants and toxins from off-road vehicles operating in California.
AB 32 Environmental Justice Advisory Committee Public Meeting: On December 14 via Zoom, CARB will host a public meeting for the Assembly Bill 32 (Núñez, Chapter 488, Statutes of 2006) Environmental Justice Advisory Committee. The committee is comprised of representatives from California communities most heavily impacted by air pollution, including those communities with minority or low-income populations. This upcoming virtual meeting is open to the public and includes a public comment period.
Public Meeting on Health Risk Assessment Capacity Building: On December 14 via remote access, CARB will host a public meeting on Health Risk Assessments (HRA). The session will include an introduction and overview on HRAs and how government agencies use them to evaluate potential health impacts of air pollution emissions. The capacity building overview will be geared towards enabling participants to better understand the uses of HRAs and how they are used in the decision-making process at various levels of government.
Public Work Group Meeting on Medium and Heavy-Duty Infrastructure: On December 16 via remote access, CARB, the California Energy Commission, the California Public Utilities Commission, and the Governor’s Office of Business Administration and Economic Development will hold the second of four work group meetings to discuss medium and heavy-duty infrastructure. The focus of this meeting will be on hydrogen, including station location planning and timing, renewable hydrogen production and supply, fuel costs, and codes and standards for medium and heavy-duty fueling. Each meeting will provide opportunities for participants to discuss current infrastructure activities, challenges, and solutions required to support zero-emission trucks and buses in response to the proposed Advanced Clean Fleets regulations.
Training Webinar on Truck and Bus Rule, Off-Road Regulation, and Portable Equipment Compliance Overview: On December 16 via webcast, CARB staff will hold a training webinar on compliance for the Truck and Bus Rule, Off-Road regulation, and the Portable Equipment Registration Program (PERP). The course will cover online reporting, current requirements, and future deadlines for both the Greenhouse Gas Reporting regulation and the Off-Road Diesel Vehicle regulation, and eligibility and requirements for PERP.
