Training Webinar on Transportation and Refrigeration Units: On August 9 via remote access, CARB staff will hold a training webinar on Transportation and Refrigeration Units (TRU). Topics that will be covered include regulation applicability, hiring and contracting TRUs, compliance requirements, and registration and labeling. TRUs are used on semi-trailers, truck vans, shipping containers, and rail cars and most are diesel-powered. To reduce risk of exposure to diesel particulate matter from TRUs, owners, operators, dispatchers, and distribution centers must comply with the TRU Airborne Toxic Control Measures.
Draft 2022 Scoping Plan Virtual Listening Sessions: On August 9 via remote access, CARB staff will host virtual listening session on the Draft 2022 Scoping Plan Update. At this event, CARB staff participate in a discussion with stakeholders and other members of the public about the state’s plan to address climate change. In 2006, the Legislature passed the California Global Warming Solutions Act of 2006 (AB 32) which requires CARB to develop a Scoping Plan that describes California’s plan to reduce greenhouse gases (GHG). Topics of interest at during this session will include programs, policies and actions to reduce GHGs emissions from major sources.
Training Webinar on CARB Programs and Regulations: On August 10 via remote access, CARB will host a training webinar on several new regulatory programs that will aid the State in achieving carbon neutrality. The course will cover requirements for existing, new, and upcoming regulations, proposed program elements, and the regulatory process.
