Bender Ready Mix Inc. Case Settles for $150,000

Bender Ready Mix Inc., will pay $150,000.00 in penalties for violating air quality regulations: $150,000.00 will go to the Air Pollution Control Fund, which provides funding for projects and research to improve California's air quality. This settlement was reached in October 25, 2017.

An investigation by the California Air Resources Board (CARB) showed that Bender Ready Mix Inc., failed to bring 17 of their trucks into compliance with the applicable in-use performance standards, and failed to properly self-inspect their diesel trucks to assure the trucks met state smoke emission standards. CARB documented violations as they related to the Periodic Smoke Inspection Program (PSIP), and the Truck and Bus (TB) Regulation. To settle the case, Bender Ready Mix Inc., agreed to the $150,000.00 penalty and to comply with PSIP, TB, and other ARB programs.
