Bay Cities Refuse Service, Inc. Case Settles for $3,200
Bay Cities Refuse Service, Inc. provides waste and recycling services in the San Francisco Bay Area. In July 2011, Bay Cities Refuse Service, Inc. agreed to pay $3,200 in penalties; $2,400 to the California Air Pollution Control Fund and $800 to the Peralta Community College District for violating air quality regulations. An investigation by the ARB showed that Bay Cities Refuse Service, Inc. failed to comply with the solid waste collection vehicle rule by neglecting to install legally required emission-reduction devices by applicable compliance dates. ARB documented violations as they related to the Solid Waste Collection Vehicle Program (SWCV).
