Atlas California Trading Case Settles for $24,000
On April 14, 2016, a case was settled with Atlas California Trading for selling the “Atlas 300A Ionic Air Purifier Ozone Ionizer Breezer” plus eight additional models of non-certified indoor air cleaning devices that are subject to the Regulation for Limiting Ozone Emissions from Indoor Air Cleaning Devices, Title 17 California Code of Regulations, sections 94800-94810. Atlas California Trading also failed to notify its distributors and resellers the Regulation for Limiting Ozone Emissions from Indoor Air Cleaning Devices as required in Section 94807 of the Regulation. Additionally, Atlas California Trading and its online resellers also failed to display in a prominent place on the primary web pages the following language, “does not meet California requirements; cannot be sold in California” as required in Sections 94804 and 94805. Atlas California Trading has agreed to pay $24,000 to settle the case.
