Arroyos Transport Case Settles for $10,500
Arroyos Transport will pay $10,500.00 in penalties for violating air quality regulations: $7,875.00 will go to the Air Pollution Control Fund, which provides funding for projects and research to improve California's air quality; $2,625.00 will go to the Peralta Colleges Foundation to fund emission education classes conducted by participating California community colleges, under the California Council for Diesel Education and Technology (CCDET) program. This settlement was reached in May, 2016.
An investigation by the Air Resources Board (ARB) showed that Arroyos Transport failed to bring 4 of their heavy-duty diesel tractors into compliance with the applicable in-use performance standards. ARB documented violations as they related to the Truck and Bus (TB) Regulation. To settle the case, Arroyos Transport agreed to the $10,500.00 penalty and to comply with TB, and other ARB programs.
