Arrow Sign Company Case Settles for $5,250
Arrow Sign Company will pay $5,250.00 in penalties for violating air quality regulations: $3,938.00 will go to the Air Pollution Control Fund, which provides funding for projects and research to improve California's air quality; $1,312.00 will go to the Peralta Colleges Foundation to fund emission education classes conducted by participating California community colleges, under the California Council for Diesel Education and Technology (CCDET) program. This settlement was reached in October, 2016.
An investigation by the Air Resources Board (ARB) showed that Arrow Sign Company failed to properly self-inspect 10 of its diesel vehicles to assure they met state smoke emission standards and 3 of its diesel vehicles did not meet reporting requirements for in-use performance standards. ARB documented violations as they related to the Periodic Smoke Inspection Program (PSIP) and the Truck and Bus (TB) Regulation. To settle the case, Arrow Sign Company agreed to the $5,250.00 penalty and to comply with PSIP, TB, and other ARB programs.
