This is a summary of recent ZEV Purchase Exemption requests in accordance with the requirements of the Advanced Clean Fleets (ACF) regulation section 2015.3(e)(2)(C) and section 2013.1(d)(2)(C).

The table below shows a list of vehicles and information about their class and configuration for which fleets have requested a ZEV Purchase Exemption and additional information is needed for the Executive Officer to confirm whether the configuration is available for purchase as a ZEV or near zero-emission vehicle (NZEV) from any manufacturer, authorized dealer or upfitter with a body that can perform the same primary intended function as the vehicles listed in the table.

Please email zevfleet@arb.ca.gov if you offer it for sale as a ZEV or NZEV and the following criteria are met:

• It is in the same or next higher weight class as the requested vehicle configuration, except for Class 8 vehicles;
• It is of an equivalent configuration identified in the table, including whether the listed vehicle has a crew cab, is a cabover, has all-wheel drive, and can be configured with the listed frame attachments;
• If applicable, the powertrain has been certified with CARB in accordance with the “California Standards and Test Procedures for New 2021 and Subsequent Model Heavy-Duty Zero-Emission Powertrains,” as adopted June 27, 2019; and
• It is available with a model year 18 months or less from the date the fleet owner submitted their complete application.

In the subject line of the email, please include the term “ZEV Purchase Exemption” and the ID number of the applicable vehicle listed in the table.
