Ameripride Services, Inc. Case Settles for $51,000
In July 2014, Ameripride Services, Inc. paid $51,000.00 in penalties for violating air quality regulations: $38,250.00 went to the Air Pollution Control Fund, which provides funding for projects and research to improve California's air quality; $12,750.00 went to the San Joaquin Valley Air Pollution Control District to fund the School Bus and Diesel Emissions Reduction Supplemental Environmental Project.
An investigation by the Air Resources Board (ARB) showed that Ameripride Services, Inc. failed to properly self-inspect their diesel trucks to assure the trucks met state smoke emission standards. ARB documented violations as they related to the Periodic Smoke Inspection Program (PSIP). To settle the case, Ameripride Services, Inc. agreed to the $51,000.00 penalty and to comply with PSIP and other ARB programs.
