ALW Enterprises, Inc. Case Settles for $21,375
ALW Enterprises, Inc. will pay $21,375 in penalties for violating air quality regulations: $16,125 will go to the Air Pollution Control Fund, which provides funding for projects and research to improve California's air quality; $5,250 will go to the San Joaquin Valley Air Pollution District for the School Bus and Diesel Emission Reduction Supplemental Environmental Project. This settlement was reached in November, 2015.
An investigation by the Air Resources Board (ARB) showed that ALW Enterprises, Inc. failed to bring one of their on road diesel trucks and one solid waste collection vehicle into compliance with the applicable in-use performance standards and failed to properly self-inspect their diesel trucks to assure the trucks met state smoke emission standards. ARB documented violations as they related to the Periodic Smoke Inspection Program (PSIP), the Solid Waste Collection Vehicle Program (SWCVP), and the Truck and Bus (TB) Regulation. To settle the case, ALW Enterprises, Inc. agreed to the $21,375 penalty and to comply with PSIP, SWCVP, TB, and other ARB programs.
