All Star Auto Recycling, Inc. Settlement
All Star Auto Recycling, Inc. Case Settles for $12,000
In September 2012, All Star Auto Recycling agreed to pay $12,000.00 in penalties for violating air quality regulations: $9,000.00 will go to the California Air Pollution Control Fund, which provides funding for projects and research to improve California's air quality; $3,000.00 will go to Peralta Community College District to fund emission education classes conducted by participating California community colleges, under the California Council for Diesel Education and Technology program.
An investigation by the Air Resources Board (ARB) showed that All Star Auto Recycling failed to properly self-inspect their diesel trucks to assure the trucks met state smoke emission standards. ARB documented violations as they related to the Periodic Smoke Inspection Program (PSIP) and the Statewide Truck and Bus (Truck and Bus) regulation. To settle the case, All Star Auto Recycling agreed to the $12,000.00 penalty and to comply with the PSIP, the Off Road regulation and the Truck and Bus regulation and other ARB programs.
