Air Cargo Transport Cfs., Inc. Case Settles for $2,250
In August 2013, Air Cargo Transport Cfs, Inc. paid $2,250.00 for violating air quality regulations: $1,688.00 was paid to the Air Pollution Control Fund, which provides funding for projects and research to improve California's air quality; $562.00 was paid to the Peralta Colleges Foundation to fund emission education classes conducted by participating California community colleges, under the California Council for Diesel Education and Technology (CCDET) program.
An investigation by the Air Resources Board (ARB) showed that Air Cargo Transport Cfs, Inc. failed to properly self-inspect their diesel trucks to assure the trucks met state smoke emission standards as required by the Periodic Smoke Inspection Program (PSIP); and failed to timely report all required information for all vehicles in the fleet for which they elected to utilize the compliance options/credits/provisions of the Statewide Truck & Bus (STB) Regulation. To settle the case, Air Cargo Transport Cfs, Inc. agreed to the $2,250.00 penalty and to comply with PSIP, STB, and other ARB programs.
