Yankee Candle Company, Inc. Case Settles for $16,400

On September 12, 2010, a case was settled with Yankee Candle Company, Inc for selling and/or supplying non-compliant air fresheners.  Portions of at least one production batch of Yankee Candle Fragrance Room Sprays manufactured by a contract filler exceeded the 25 percent by weight VOC limit set under Consumer Products Regulation for the Air Freshener: Double Phase Aerosols specified in Title 17, CCR, Section 94509(a).  In addition, Yankee Candle Fragrance Fan Refills exceeded the 3 percent by weight VOC limit set under Consumer Products Regulation for the Air Freshener: Solid/Semisolid specified in Title 17, CCR, Section 94509(a).  Yankee Candle Company, Inc paid $16,400 to settle this case.
