Woody & Lamy Floor, Incorporated Settles for $9,000.00
In February 2020, the California Air Resources Board (CARB) settled a Composite Wood case with Woody & Lamy Floor, Incorporated (Woody & Lamy), of Santa Fe Springs, California. Woody & Lamy sold, supplied, or offered for sale noncompliant laminate flooring that contained medium density fiberboard (MDF) product in California. The flooring, Bacardi Merbau, contained formaldehyde emissions above the limits set in the Airborne Toxic Control Measure to Reduce Formaldehyde Emissions from Composite Wood Products. In addition, Woody & Lamy is in violation for not providing a statement of compliance on the customer invoice or customer bill of lading. Woody & Lamy no longer sells Bacardi Merbau flooring, and now has a statement of compliance on their customer invoices. Woody & Lamy agreed to pay $9,000.00 to settle this case.
