Wal-Mart Stores, Inc. and Vi-Jon, Inc. Case Settles for $10,750.00

On June 24, 2013, a case was settled jointly with Walmart and Vi-Jon for manufacturing and selling “Equate Sensitive Skin Astringent” which was a store brand subject to the VOC limit for Astringent/Toner category, title 17, California Code of Regulations, section 94509(a). The product contained concentrations of VOC’s exceeding the 35 percent by weight VOC limit. There were approximately 0.287 tons of excess emissions. The companies paid $10,750.00 to settle the case.
