TPG Plastics, LLC Settles For $1,568
In November of 2019, TPG Plastics, LLC (TPG), headquartered in Willowbrook, Illinois, settled its case with the California Air Resources Board (CARB). CARB inspectors found and cited portable fuel containers (PFC) manufactured by TPG that did not have the CARB Executive Order number embossed on the container, placing them in violation of California Code of Regulations, title 13, section 2467.5.
TPG cooperated with CARB during the agency’s investigation. The resulting settlement requires the company to pay a two dollar per unit penalty, resulting in a total penalty of $1,568 to the Air Pollution Control Fund. TPG agrees that any PFC sold, supplied, offered for sale, advertised, or manufactured for sale in California, will comply with all applicable standards.
