TIGI Linea Corporation Case Settles for $211,460
On November 29, 2015, a case was settled with TIGI Linea Corporation for donating “TIGI Catwalk Finishing Hairspray” to a California charity, which was subject to the volatile organic compound (VOC) limit for Hair Styling Products: Hair Finishing Spray category in title 17, California Code of Regulations (CCR), section 94509(a). The product contained concentrations of VOC’s exceeding the 55 percent by weight VOC limit for the category. Excess emissions in this case were approximately 10.36 tons.
In addition, the company sold, supplied, and offered for sale in California units of “TIGI Seriously Straight S & S” subject to the volatile organic compound (VOC) limit for Hair Styling Products: Aerosol and Pump Spray category in title 17, California Code of Regulations (CCR), section 94509(a). This product contained concentrations of VOCs exceeding the 6 percent VOC limit for Hair Styling Products: Aerosol and Pump Spray category specified in title 17, CCR, section 94509(a). There were approximately 0.26 tons of excess emissions for this product. The company paid $211,460.00 to settle the case.
