Tanimura & Antle, Inc. Case Settles for $6,300
Tanimura & Antle, Inc. will pay $6,300.00 in penalties for violating air quality regulations: $4,725.00 will go to the Air Pollution Control Fund, which provides funding for projects and research to improve California's air quality; $1,575.00 will go to the Peralta Colleges Foundation to fund emission education classes conducted by participating California community colleges, under the California Council for Diesel Education and Technology (CCDET) program. This settlement was reached in April, 2016.
An investigation by the Air Resources Board (ARB) showed that Tanimura & Antle, Inc. failed to ensure all engines of their fleet vehicles, under the Emission Control Label (ECL) Program, had a properly affixed ECL. ARB documented violations as they related to the ECL Program. To settle the case, Tanimura & Antle, Inc. agreed to the $6,300.00 penalty and to comply with the ECL and other ARB programs.
