Taiyo Nippon Kisen Company, Limited Case Settles for $10,000

Taiyo Nippon Kisen Company, Limited paid $10,000.00 in penalties to the California Air Resources Board (ARB), for violating air quality regulations.  This settlement was reached on September 21, 2017.  An investigation by ARB showed that Taiyo Nippon Kisen Company, Limited operated the vessel, Cielo Di Tokyo on non-compliant fuel upon entering into the Regulated California Waters in 2017.  ARB laboratory had determined that the marine gas oil (MGO) fuel exceeded the 0.1 percent sulfur limit for MGO.  To settle this case, Taiyo Nippon Kisen Company, Limited agreed to the $10,000 penalty and to comply with all ARB regulations.
