Superior Truck Services, Inc. Case Settles for $7,375
Superior Truck Services, Inc. will pay $7,375.00 in penalties for violating air quality regulations: $5,531.00 will go to the Air Pollution Control Fund, which provides funding for projects and research to improve California's air quality; and $1,844.00 will go to the School Bus Retrofit Project to retrofit school buses throughout California with diesel emission control strategies. This settlement was reached in April, 2016.
An investigation by the Air Resources Board (ARB) showed that Superior Truck Services, Inc. failed to bring three of their diesel-powered trucks into compliance with the applicable in-use performance standards and failed to properly self-inspect their diesel trucks to assure the trucks met state smoke emission standards. ARB documented violations as they related to the Periodic Smoke Inspection Program (PSIP) and the Truck and Bus (TB) Regulation. To settle the case, Superior Truck Services, Inc. agreed to the $7,375.00 penalty and to comply with PSIP, TB, and other ARB programs.
