Superior Products Company Settles For $20,000
In March 2026, the California Air Resources Board (CARB) reached a settlement with Superior Products Company (Superior), with its principal location in South Roxana, Illinois, for the company’s violation of the Regulation for Reducing Emissions from Consumer Products (Consumer Products Regulation), as codified in California Code of Regulations, title 17, section 94507-94517.
An investigation conducted by CARB staff revealed that Superior failed to meet the VOC requirements in the Standards for Consumer Products (Cal. Code Regs., tit. 17, § 94509).
Superior fully cooperated with CARB to resolve this matter. Terms of the settlement include a requirement for Superior to comply with all other CARB regulations going forward. The total civil penalty amount of $20,000 will be deposited into CARB’s Air Pollution Control Fund, which provides funding for projects and research to improve California's air quality.
