Sunrise Logistics Case Settles for $6,000
Sunrise Logistics will pay $6,000.00 in penalties for violating air quality regulations: $4,500.00 will go to the Air Pollution Control Fund, which provides funding for projects and research to improve California's air quality; $1,500.00 will go to the Peralta Colleges Foundation to fund emission education classes conducted by participating California community colleges, under the California Council for Diesel Education and Technology (CCDET) program. This settlement was reached in March 2015.
An investigation by the Air Resources Board (ARB) showed that Sunrise Logistics failed to bring one heavy duty diesel vehicle into compliance with the applicable in-use performance standards. ARB documented violations as they related to the Truck and Bus Regulation. To settle the case, Sunrise Logistics agreed to the $6,000.00 penalty and to comply with Truck and Bus Regulation and other ARB programs.
