This Stuff Works, Inc. Case Settles for $5,000

This Stuff Works, Inc. (Sacramento, California) sold, supplied, and/or offered for sale a non-compliant Spot Remover in California. Enforcement staff purchased a sample of This Stuff Works Graffiti Remover that contained concentrations of volatile organic compounds (VOC) that exceeded the three percent limit for the Spot Remover: Non-aerosol category specified in title 17 California Code of Regulations section 94509(a). The violation resulted in 0.41 tons of excess VOC emissions, based upon the formulation and the sales information provided by This Stuff Works. This Stuff Works modified the product to meet regulation requirements and is now in compliance with the regulation.
