$19,000 in Fines Paid by Stater Bros. Markets
Stater Bros. Markets paid $19,000 in penalties for violating air quality regulations. This case was closed in November 2006. An investigation by the ARB showed that Stater Bros. Markets failed to properly self-inspect their diesel trucks to assure the trucks met state smoke emission standards. ARB documented violations of the Periodic Smoke Inspection Program (PSIP). To settle the case, Stater Bros. Markets agreed to the $19,000 penalty and to comply with the PSIP.
