Performance Evaluation Audits
Performance evaluation (PE) audit procedures ensure that all audits are conducted consistently and in accordance with federal requirements. PE audits include through-the-probe, flow rate, and meteorological sensor audits. For a list of all SOPs related to PE audits, please visit the Quality Assurance Performance Audits webpage.
Technical Systems Audits
CARB conducts Technical Systems Audits (TSA) of monitoring organizations within CARB's Primary Quality Assurance Organization (PQAO) in support of the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s (U.S. EPA) responsibility to review and evaluate regulatory ambient air quality monitoring programs (40 CFR Part 58 Appendix A, Section 2.5). TSAs are intended to support a monitoring organization’s activities to ensure compliance with U.S. EPA requirements and technical standards for environmental data collection for regulatory ambient air quality. The following areas are typically covered during the TSA: network management, field operations, laboratory operations, data management and tracking, quality assurance, and quality control. For more information related to TSA's, please visit the Technical Systems Audits webpage.
