Single Line Express, Inc. Settlement
Single Line Express, Inc. Case Settles for $2,000.00
In December 2012, Single Line Express Inc. agreed to pay $2,000.00 in penalties for violating air quality regulations: $1,500.00 will go to the California Air Pollution Control Fund, which provides funding for projects and research to improve California's air quality; $500.00 will go to Peralta Community College District to fund emission education classes conducted by participating California community colleges, under the California Council for Diesel Education and Technology (CCDET) program.
An investigation by the Air Resources Board (ARB) showed that Single Line Express Inc. failed to properly self-inspect all of their diesel trucks to assure the trucks met state smoke emission standards, and to timely report all required information for all vehicles in the fleet for which it elected to utilize the phase-in option. ARB documented violations as they related to the Periodic Smoke Inspection Program (PSIP) and the Statewide Truck and Bus Regulation. To settle the case, Single Line Express Inc. agreed to the $2,000.00 penalty and to comply with the Periodic Smoke Inspection program, the Statewide Truck and Bus Regulation, and other ARB programs.
