Shining Monkey Corp. Case Settles for $5,150

Shining Monkey Corp. paid $5,150 to settle a case for manufacturing/selling Shining Monkey automotive polishes which exceeded VOC content limits. Two products exceeded the 15 percent by weight VOC limit for the Automotive Wax/Polish/Sealant/Glaze: Other Forms category and one product exceeded the 17 percent by weight VOC limit for the Automotive Rubbing or Polishing Compound category. These violations resulted in about 275 pounds of excess VOC emissions. The requirements are specified in Title 17, CCR, Section 94509(a) Standards for Consumer Products. The settlement agreement was finalized on May 27, 2014.
