$7,500 in Fines Paid by Sherwin–Williams Company
On September 29, 2008, a case was settled with The Sherwin–Williams Company Diversified Brands for manufacturing for sale in California non-compliant Aerosol Mist Spray Adhesives for another company. The Consumer Products Regulation specifies that all Aerosol Mist Spray Adhesives sold in California must meet the 65 percent by weight VOC limit. It was determined that a supplier had changed the formula for a major component of the product, which resulted in non-compliant aerosol adhesive. The Sherwin–Williams Company paid $7,500 to settle the case.
