Selland Auto Transport, Inc. Case Settles for $6,400
In June 2014, Selland Auto Transport Inc. paid $6,400.00 for violating air quality regulations: $4,800.00 was paid to the Air Pollution Control Fund, which provides funding for projects and research to improve California's air quality; $1,600.00 was paid to the Peralta Colleges Foundation to fund emission education classes conducted by participating California community colleges, under the California Council for Diesel Education and Technology (CCDET) program.
An investigation by the Air Resources Board (ARB) showed that Selland Auto Transport Inc. failed to properly affix Engine Control Labels (ECL) on the engines of three of their fleet vehicles and failed to timely report all required information for all vehicles in the fleet for which they elected to utilize the compliance options/credits/provisions of the Statewide Truck & Bus (STB) Regulation. To settle the case, Selland Auto Transport Inc. agreed to the $6,400.00 penalty and to comply with the ECL Regulation, the STB Regulation, and other ARB programs.
