Sean Truck & Reefer Rental, Incorporated Case Settles for $58,500.00
On June 8, 2012, Sean Truck & Reefer Rental, Incorporated (ST) agreed to pay $58,500.00 in penalties for violating air quality regulations; $43,875.00 will go to the California Air Pollution Control Fund and $14,625.00 went to the Peralta Community College District for distribution to participating California Community Colleges, under the California Council for Diesel Education and Technology (CCDET) program. The Air Resources Board (ARB) investigation of ST was initiated when an informer alleged that the company was violating the Transport Refrigeration Unit (TRU) regulation. Based on the information provided to the Enforcement Division during the investigation, it was determined that ST failed to comply with the TRU and ARB Periodic Smoke Inspection Program (PSIP). To settle the case, ST agreed to the $58,500.00 penalty and to comply with the PSIP, TRU regulations.
